We are also actively collecting warm clothing, back packs , blue tarps, one person tents, personal hygiene items, men’s warm socks, mufflers, warm hats and gloves. These important items will be donated to Transform Burien.
There, they will be sorted and distributed from their Clothing Bank for our homeless community. These items certainly do not need to be newly purchased. They can be gently used with a lot good of use left in them. With the weather changing and becoming more cold and wet, these items will not only be helpful but potentially lifesaving.
Our outreach volunteers and the Knights of Columbus will be assisting in delivering November's meal service of prepared food to Transform Burien.
We have volunteers who will be serving the food at Transform Burien. Our menu for November will be a soft taco bar, with seasoned ground beef or turkey for those individuals who do not eat red meat. We’ll also have legume options and all the delicious and healthy accoutrements including: Tomatoes, shredded lettuce, salsa, sour cream and guacamole.
A dear volunteer will be making homemade cookies for dessert. Sounds yummy ! It’s going to be wonderful . Beverages both hot and cold will be served as well. Please contact me at kswan@stfoa-parish.org if your interested or have questions about volunteering in the future. I am here to help you.
