MASS CHOIR

We are getting ready for the upcoming liturgical seasons and we are looking for more members to join our choir! If you enjoy singing in the pews during Mass and feel like you are called to doing more, please contact Denise at Dduque@stfoa-parish.org. Choir experience not needed! 

SIMBANG GABI CHOIR

“Simbang Gabi” traditionally is a devotional, nine-day series of Masses attended by Filipino Catholics in anticipation of Christmas. We have been able to celebrate this beautiful tradition in St. Francis Parish and in several others the archdiocese during December, welcoming all members of our parishes.  We begin by sending our parish representatives to the Commissioning Mass at St. James Cathedral where we celebrate with all of the archdiocese to usher in Simbang Gabi. 

We currently have a choir that serves for our Parish family, and now will be singing at the Commissioning Mass as well.  We have already begun rehearsals for the Commissioning Mass and are welcoming more singers. The music rehearsed for this Mass will also be music used for our scheduled Simbang Gabi Masses in our parish. If you are interested, please contact Denise for more information. We will sing in Tagalog and English (no Tagalog or choir experience required here too!) 

MUSIC THEORY
I will begin holding regular music theory classes again beginning the week of October 21. If you have been wanting to learn how to read music or would like to enhance your choir music reading skills, this is the class for you! It is a 7 week series of FREE classes for 1 hour, once a week. Weddings and Funerals

The sacred and communal nature of our Catholic Wedding and Funeral Celebrations require careful planning in the selection of music.  Because of the sacredness of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, secular instrumental or vocal music, or the use of recorded music of any kind may not be used.
