The St. Francis of Assisi Pastoral Council Honors Ken Dovos

Ken Devos came to St. Francis of Assisi Parish from St. Bernadette’s Parish in 1994. He was raised in the Catholic Church and has lived in Washington State all his life. He and his wife Carol, were married at St. Anthony’s Parish in Kent 28 years ago.

They have two children; Elizabeth, 25 who graduated from Central Washington University with a journalist degree, and Michael 18, who is a first year student at Washington State University.

Ken Works at Nordstrom as a System Analyst. He also volunteers at Highline High School as an assistant golf coach.

Ken has been a member of the Knights of Columbus for 30 years. He is the State Youth Chairman for Washington State. The Knights are very active in our Parish supporting many religious and local causes. Many of which are St. Martin De Porres Shelter, Francis House, the Matt Talbot Center and Pregnancy Aid of Des Moines. His commitment to the group is a blessing. Ken also serves as Usher and Sacristan.

Ken is also very active in the Boy Scouts’ of America Program. He is the Advancement Chair for Troop 375 and also serves as the Merit Badge Coordinator, holding many different positions over the years.

He is fulfilled spiritually by giving of his time and talents and truly feels engaged in the process. Ken feels his calling is to give back to his Church what he has received spiritually.

We honor Ken for his service and commitment to St. Francis of Assisi Parish. We thank you for your dedication and are blessed to have you as a part of our Church Community.

God Bless and Thank You

One of the six key characteristics of an engaged member of a parish is that members have received recognition or praise from someone in their parish, within the past six months. As our Parish moves forward, it will be essential that we create the climate where parishioners freely and frequently can recognize and praise the efforts of other parishioners and staff members. One step in creating this climate is the creation of this forum. Read More
