In First Grade we strive to develop a life-long love of reading by exploring various poems and stories. Our goal is to have our first graders reading by the end of the year. Two reading resource specialists help the students to achieve this goal. Basic math skills are taught through a variety of games and manipulatives. Students learn about the earth and weather with our hands-on science program. In social studies, the students gain an understanding of the community they live in. Their relationship with Jesus grow as they listen to stories of His life and they learn that Jesus was a child much like they are.
