St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Burien, WA USA
We have a busy Spring/Summer in the works! In June (tentatively June 4th-14th), we’re excited to welcome Padre Carlos Mauricio Cruz Martinez and a 3-person delegation. In August (6th-18th), we’ll be sending a group to Ojos de Agua, El Salvador.
There’re lots of opportunities to participate, so please get involved. First, we’re looking for anyone interested in helping out with the visiting delegation. We will be providing transportation (airline miles?), housing, meals (lunch/dinner parties), activities, translation, and general support. They really want to immerse themselves in our daily lives, so anything is possible! This is an incredible opportunity to meet and interact with this amazing community – certainly a lifechanging experience. If you’re interested in either opportunity, please contact David N.at 206.755.1202 or
.
SISTER PARISH COULD USE YOUR HELP
St. Francis of Assisi will bring a delegation to visit us this Fall from our sister Parish in El Salvador. We hope to bring five delegates to spend two weeks here. The major expense for the visit is airfare. If you (or your business) have frequent flyer miles that you would like to donate to the parish we can save a lot of money. If you have 35,000 miles on Continental or United (or one of their partners) and would consider donating them, please call Jack Michaels at 242-6972.
The goal of having a Sister Parish is to be people who grow together in faith, work together in hope, worship together in love, bear one another's sorrow, forgive one another's faults, share one another's joy, need one another, love one another, support one another, look for God in one another, see God in everyone. Caring, Loving, Sharing, Growing -- Two Parishes, one people of God.
