ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI ST. VINCENT DE PAUL CONFERENCE…

As of October 10, 2017 Mary McGarry is the new President of our St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Francis. Mary is the first woman to be elected as President in the Parish. Vice President will be Patrick Pomeroy. Patti Pomeroy will serve as our Spiritual Advisor. Jim Sharkey will continue as our Treasurer and Pat deCastongrene will continue as Secretary.
Many thanks to our Officers who served for the past three years, Pat Pomeroy, President - handling many changes that have occurred in the way we handle cases and a new computer system in King County.
Also we would like to recognize Marion Julum-Weaver for her commitment to serving as our Spiritual Advisor.
Please pray for all Vincentians who work to hear the “CRY OF THE POOR” and work to make a positive difference in their lives. AND…Thank you to our generous parishioners who contributed $3,185.35 in October. Without your generosity and commitment to help our neighbors in need we could not help those to come to us ask for help.

Stewardship Opportunities

Volunteers are Needed: Please prayerfully consider volunteering as an Usher, Sacristan or Church Cleaner. A short description of these ministries follows. If you are able to help with any of these ministries please contact Elizabeth in the Parish Office (206) 242-4575 ext. 25.

Ushers

The role of the ushers is to take up the collection, see that the offertory gifts are brought to the altar, pass out our weekly bulletins, and assist with other situations that might arise.

Sacristans

The Sacristans are responsible for unlocking and locking the church and setting up for Mass. Set up includes vessels, hosts and wine. Sacristans are scheduled to perform their duties for all Masses on weekdays, weekends and holy days. Sacristans may also be asked to set up on other occasions such as funerals.

Church Cleaning Ministry

These ministers help keep our beautiful church tidy. Only about 30 minutes once a month is required. These volunteers work in teams of two or more, on Thursday or Friday to prepare for the weekend Masses. Light house keeping – no heavy work or vacuuming will need to be done. Responsibilities include: filling the holy water, dusting and straightening.
